What makes coffee Gourmet?
Our specialty coffee is roasted in house on a weekly schedule to ensure fresh coffee on every order. We choose only the best grade green coffee beans to import from their country of origin. You will find our roasting techniques will bring out many of the quality flavors you look for in a gourmet coffee. Some may wonder what makes our coffee "gourmet" and why it could be considered better than what you can find at the grocery. Coffee beans are given a grade score once the beans reach harvest. Many grocery store brands use robusta beans primarily in instant coffee and as a filler in ground coffee to keep costs down. This is a very common practice in large coffee productions. Iron City Coffee strives to select beans from the highest quality lots in ultimate coffee growing regions from around the world. Then it is our passion to take these great coffee beans and experiment with the various chemical reactions that take place during the roasting process. It's an art to us to find the most desirable flavors the coffee has to offer. Its misunderstood gourmet coffee is stronger. Although it could be stronger, the specific coffee bean species characteristics make up the coffee. We carry many coffee's that hold many different characteristics to fit any coffee enthusiasts needs.
